Happy November everyone! We’re staying warm and dry at the Ballistic Arts design studio, with lots of projects to keep us busy and out of the cold. This month we’re featuring a highlight video for Vancity‘s Recognition Night, a custom WordPress website for the Treehouse Neighbourhood Pub, photos for Canada Wide Media Ltd., the Fall edition of UBC‘s Reach Out newsletter, and a Cineplex ad for Fox’s Reach Liquor Store. Canada Wide Media Ltd. Freybe Meats Photo Session – Burnaby, BC

Challenge: Canada Wide Media Limited provides a diverse range of media services and products, ranging from high-end printed publications to the latest in digital media. They were in need of professional photos to accompany an editorially written feature on Sven Freybe’s business.

Solution: The Ballistic Arts media design studio in Burnaby sent one of our photographers to the Freybe Meats processing facility in Langley to shoot images of the people at work, the products, and some portraits of Sven Freybe. The final photos were used in a corporate profile that Canada Wide Media published online.

The Arbuthnot Group Fox’s Reach Liquor Store Cineplex Ad – Maple Ridge, BC

Challenge: Fox’s Reach Liquor Store in Maple Ridge is a specialty liquor store that carries everyday low priced items in every category. They were looking to update their Cineplex Odeon theatre ad with an autumn theme.

Solution: The video production team at Ballistic Arts’ Burnaby studio animated an ad using warm shades of orange and an image of a maple leaf, giving the Cineplex ad a look that transitions with the Fall season.

The Treehouse Neighbourhood Pub Custom WordPress Website Design – Port Coquitlam, BC

Challenge: The Treehouse Neighbourhood Pub in Port Coquitlam is known for its amazing staff, great food, and regular patrons who have become a part of their family. They were looking to renovate the look of their website and came to Ballistic Arts for help.

Solution: Our website design and programming team in Burnaby created a custom WordPress website with a dark, organic colour scheme that reflects the atmosphere of the pub. The call-to-action elements on the home page draws viewers to the pub’s menu and location, while the CMS system allows the Treehouse staff to update the website in-house.

Vancity Recognition Night 2011 Video – Vancouver, BC

Challenge: Vancity is a credit union dedicated to helping each of their members get to a good place with their finances, while improving the place we call home. Each year they acknowledge their employees at Recognition Night, and they wanted a video that would capture the highlights of the evening.

Solution: The Burnaby-based video production team at Ballistic Arts sent one of our videographers to attend Vancity’s Recognition Night and document the festivities. The footage was then edited into a 4-minute video that highlights employee recognition, Vancity’s 65th anniversary, their new brand and a minute of bloopers at the end.

UBC Faculty of Land & Food Systems Reach Out Newsletter – Vancouver, BC

Challenge: The Faculty of Land and Food Systems at Vancouver’s University of British Columbia (UBC) addresses critical global issues around human health, a sustainable food supply, and land and water resources through research and education. The Fall 2011 edition of their semi-annual newsletter was going into production and they called Ballistic Arts to help with the graphic treatment.

Solution: Our graphic design team in Burnaby updated the colour scheme of the current Reach Out newsletter and desktop published the new content in time for UBC to print and mail the newsletter to their readers.
