March 2007

Happy March Everybody!

Spring has arrived, and we're glad to see the longer days and hear the birds chirping, even with all the rain! To inject some sunshine into your day, we've got a new batch of designs for you to look at, so check out what we've been up to this month!

British Columbia Securities Commission - (DM Design Part 2)
Challenge: The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) is the independent provincial government agency responsible for regulating securities trading in British Columbia through the administration of the Securities Act. They were in need of change management materials to support staff in the integration of their new Document Management (DM) system.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed a brochure and cheat sheet that follows the comedic style and design of the DM campaign we created last year. By developing these materials in a similar style to the manual cover, letterhead, and video campaigns, consistency is maintained, which helps staff integrate the new DM system.

SHARE - (Brochure Design)
Challenge: SHARE Family & Community Services Society is a non-profit, independent, community-based agency providing leadership and programs in response to the social needs of residents in the Tri-Cities and adjacent communities. They were looking to have a brochure designed.

Solution: Ballistic Arts created a three-panel brochure for SHARE that educates readers about their services, programs, and values. The design is professional, informative, and speaks to all audiences, from those who require the Society's services, to those who wish to make a contribution.

Verrus - (Cartoon Illustrations)
Challenge: Founded in 2000, Verrus has pioneered pay-by-phone services in cities and towns throughout North America and Europe. They wanted to create a series of cartoons showing the benefits of using Verrus compared with people who don't use their service.

Solution: Ballistic Arts illustrated four cartoons in a comic strip format, with each comic strip portraying a different scenario. The cartoons humorously depict happy characters who successfully park using Verrus against unhappy characters in unfortunate situations caused by using old parking methods. The result is a promotional communication piece that is unique and fun.

Communicopia - (Business Card Design)
Challenge: Communicopia helps organizations working for social change inspire and engage their audiences in new ways through the connective power of the web. They were looking to have business cards designed.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed a modern, double-sided business card with rounded edges. The use of the company's fern in the design of the card creates consistency in branding, and reinforces their tagline: "Online. Creative. Certified Organic."
