Happy May Everybody!

As Ballistic Arts continues to grow, we've been finding ourselves getting busier and busier, which is why we've decided to hire an intern – Peanut the cat! (actually, our real intern is from Germany and isn't a cat, but he was too shy to share his photo in our newsletter).

Check out what our new team has been designing!

Port Moody Integrated Health - (Website Design)
Challenge:
Port Moody Integrated Health believes that achieving optimal health is a journey that is greatly enhanced by treating the body, mind and spirit of each patient. They were looking to improve the design of their website and add the ability to blog.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed a website using tranquil images that complement the overall design. Since we also designed their logo, business cards, and stationery, we used colours from those materials in the website design to create consistency in their corporate brand, while the blog gives them the freedom to share articles and make use of Web 2.0 technology.

Vancity - (Recognition Night Awards Videos)
Challenge: The team at Vancity is focused on creating a leading financial institution where everyone works together to achieve personal and financial goals, while also building a better community. Vancity was holding their annual employee recognition night and needed videos to help present the night's awards.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed, animated and produced eight nominee and award winner videos that followed Vancity's theme of the glamorous Oscar red carpet in Hollywood. The colourful, interactive videos were played at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theatre and provided Vancity with a creative way to showcase their nominees and award winners.

BC Housing - (CHRA Display Decal and Sign Design)
Challenge: BC Housing is the provincial crown agency that develops, manages and administers a wide range of subsidized housing options for those in greatest need. They were looking to have a decal and sign designed for the CHRA Congress they were sponsoring.

Solution: Using BC Housing's corporate colours, Ballistic Arts designed a decal that would be installed on an Interactive Information Station they were sponsoring at the Congress. A corresponding sign was also designed for display.

University of British Columbia - (Faculty of Land & Food Systems Annual Report Design)
Challenge: The UBC Faculty of Land and Food Systems is a leader in integrated research and education that addresses global issues surrounding health and sustainable land and food systems. They were in need of design and desktop publishing services for their 2006/2007 annual report.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed the cover and inside pages of the annual report using the Faculty's colours of green and orange. We desktop published the content in neat columns and used photos for visual interest, creating a report that is clean and easy to read.

Burgoo - (Website Design)
Challenge: Burgoo is an international cookhouse serving value oriented, flavour-filled dishes of food for comfort. They were looking to update the look of their website.

Solution: Through our full media design services, Ballistic Arts was able to provide Burgoo with a take-out menu design, photography, and now a website. We created a flash site that is rustic, traditional and emulates the wholesome goodness of their hearty food, as well as the comfortable surroundings in their restaurants.
