NOVEMBER 2007

Happy November Everybody!

It's cold and chilly outside, which means the mountains are starting to get snow! We've been keeping busy designing some cool projects. Take a look!

University of British Columbia - (Animal Welfare Program Website Design)
Challenge:
The University of British Columbia established the Animal Welfare Program in 1997 to improve the welfare and humane care of animals in agriculture, research, companionship and other areas, and to help build knowledge-based consensus on the broader ethical questions that arise over human use of animals. They were looking to have their website redesigned.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed a website featuring a large image of grazing cows as a backdrop for content. This immediately attracts attention and makes the site warm and inviting, while the use of blue and yellow gives the site a distinct UBC feel. The rotating Flash box on the home page provides movement and enables the Animal Welfare Program to highlight important information.

Anducci's Restaurants - (Catering Box Design)
Challenge:
Anducci's Restaurants is renowned for its authentic Italian food that's made by hand, and recently celebrated the grand opening of their fourth location, Anducci's Cucina. They were looking for someone to design their catering boxes.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed the boxes using familiar Anducci's elements, such as the colours yellow and black, the Hans character, and Italian-English phrases, to create a box that is fun not only IN the box but also OUTSIDE the box.

Coquitlam Public Library - (Annual Report Design)
Challenge: The Coquitlam Public Library exists to connect its diverse community to creativity, discovery and knowledge. They were looking for someone to design their 2006 annual report.

Solution: Ballistic Arts created an annual report that neatly organizes content in coloured boxes, which gives contrast to each page. The design is clean and simple, with photos that lend visual interest throughout the report.

Wing Nuts - (Take-out Menu Design)
Challenge: Wing Nuts has thrilled wing fans from all over metro Vancouver and the world, and was named "Best Wings in the City" by the Vancouver Sun in 2006. They were looking to have a new take-out menu designed.

Solution: Ballistic Arts designed a fresh, new take-out menu using the corporate colours of red, black and white. The result is a menu that makes the Wing Nuts brand recognizable and represents the restaurant in a professional, stylish manner.
