December 2004
Happy December and Happy Holidays everybody! Things are jing jing jingling along here at Ballistic Arts Media Studios. Take a peak at all the jolly designs Santa has brought us to work on lately!
Ovation: Variety Show for Cancer - (Postcard Design)
Challenge: Ovation is a variety show for cancer featuring youth talent. It's presented by CAUSE. They were looking for someone to donate their time to design their postcard handouts. Net proceeds donated to The Canadian Cancer Society & Delta Hospital.

Solution: Ballistic Arts has worked with CAUSE before for their SPLASH event. We were happy to donate our time to fight cancer for this latest event. Go buy some last minute stocking stuffers! They're only 10 bucks! For more info, contact Michelle Jones at jones-inc@telus.net or 604-720-3392.

The Arbuthnot Group - (Menu Designs for The Landing Pub, Rhino's Pub & Fox's Reach Pub)
Challenge: TAG has had the same menu designs for the last few years and wanted to change up the designs to keep up with the times.

Solution: Since Ballistic Arts has been working with TAG on their websites and other corporate paraphernalia, it was only logical for us to give them a hand on their menus. This way, they got a consistent look, unique designs and cost effective pricing.

Edible Vancouver - (Business Card Design)
Challenge: Edible Vancouver is a new company that specialises in personal food experiences for tourists visiting Vancouver or for the local dining conneisseur. They were looking for a business card to match their new logo.

Solution: Because we helped them design their logo, Edible Vancouver invited us to work with them to create a business card that reflected the personality of their company and Vancouver.

Vancity Credit Union - ($1 Million Award)
Challenge: Every year, Vancity Credit Union gives away $1 million to a charitable organisation. Members vote to see who will be the lucky winner. They were looking for help in capturing the celebration of the event to put on the vancity.com website.

Solution: We were fortunate enough to work with Vancity on this project last year and were consequently invited back to work on this project.

Shaw Cable - The Express TV Show - (Logo Design)
Challenge: Shaw Cable has a featured magazine lifestyle show called The Express. They were looking for someone to help them give their current logo a "face-lift".

Solution: After getting an understanding of who The Express caters to (an energetic, fun, confident, and multicultural audience of all ages) we created a logo that steered away from traditional stereotypes of community television and was reflective of what the producers of the show wanted to communicate.
