Seaspan Shipyard Launches OFSV 3 CCGS John Cabot during COVID-19

DR. BONNIE HENRY LAUNCHES CANADIAN COAST GUARD SHIP
British Columbia's Provincial Health Officer was invited to christening the vessel with a ceremonial blessing and bottle smash on the bow of the newest offshore fisheries science vessel. Dr. Bonnie Henry was the honored guest for her exceptional leadership to stop the spread of COVID-19 in BC, but also because she began her career as a medical health officer with the Royal Canadian Navy.
CONTINUING OPERATIONS DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC
Seaspan Shipyards was able to complete the construction of the 63.4 meters CCGS John Cabot amid the COVID-19 pandemic with all protective measures in place. They had to adapt to the situation and managed to accomplish some first-time evers by completing 97% construction on the hardstand. This is a testament of British Columbians zealous to protect their employee's health while working to keep the economy going.
